I bought a nice chessboard and a set of chess men. But the boxes available to store the chess men were not to my liking, so I decided to build one myself.

I cut some inlays which I stained mahogany, and put on three coats of polyurethane.

The inserts I made of several layers of EVA foam of different thicknesses.

And I added some hardware from our favorite Chinese retailer to finish it off with.
